<< View Previous Item    View Next Selection >>
This fine repousse copper portable shrine box, traditionally called a Gau Shrine, was made to contain small objects from the owner's homeland while traveling. The Gau offered here contains written prayers, dried grains, and a special amulet known as a Tsa Tsa (figures made from stamped clay and often mixed with the ashes of revered teachers). It is in marvelous condition thus providing a well preserved insight into Tibetan culture as well as being a cherished Buddhist work for the faithful.
